She earned her degree in Biology (diploma) in 1987 from the University of Gießen, Germany. Following this, she worked as a scientist at the Medical University of Göttingen, Germany, in the Department of Pathology from 1987 to 1998, where she focused on analyzing molecular diagnostic patterns in breast cancer, particularly oncogenes. In 1995, she obtained her Ph.D. in human biology from the Medical University of Hannover, Germany.
From 1999 to 2023, Dr. Marx served as the chief executive director and scientist for a company specializing in dendritic cell therapy, which was founded by Prof. Peters and Dr. Neßelhut. Since 1999, she has also acted as the deputy supervisor of the laboratory responsible for manufacturing active specific immunotherapies based on autologous dendritic cells for cancer patients. Her research has primarily focused on treatment strategies utilizing autologous immune cells, including dendritic cells, regenerative cells, and tolerance-inducing cells.
